The successors of many generations of winemakers, the two brothers Jean-Fernand and François, decided in 1991 to clear old plots and plant exclusively Sauvignon Blanc. This grape thrives on the chalky flint soil of Giennois. Not only did the company grow over the years, but Gamay and Pinot Noir were also planted. Along with Sauvignon Blanc, these are the three grape varieties permitted in Coteaux du Giennois.
The two brothers who founded the Villargeau vineyard are now stepping back but will remain involved in the daily operations and the company's future. After all, they are the story behind Villargeau. The current management is in the hands of Marc, Yves, and Christophe.
