The Domaine Champalou Vouvray Brut is a pleasant, accessible sparkling wine made from Chenin Blanc according to the traditional method. Catherine and Didier Champalou began their wine adventure in 1983 with half a hectare of Chenin Blanc, and were discovered by wine enthusiasts immediately after their first bottling. Since 2006, their daughter Céline has also been involved in the estate, which now sustainably produces 120,000 bottles per year and is enjoyed worldwide.

Grapes & Vinification

The Chenin Blanc grapes come from carefully selected vineyards in Vouvray, where the limestone-rich soils provide minerality and elegance. The wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle according to the traditional method, which ensures fine bubbles and complexity. The result is a pleasantly accessible sparkling wine with a soft flavor profile - perfect as an aperitif, but also excellent accompanying a light meal.

Estate information:
Both hailing from winemaking families, Catherine and Didier Champalou began their wine adventure in 1983 in their pursuit of autonomy, founding Domaine Champalou. They started by planting half a hectare of Chenin Blanc, then waited three years for the first mature harvest. Success was immediate: right after the first bottling, the Domaine was discovered by wine enthusiasts. Since 2006, their eldest daughter Céline has also been involved in the estate, and annual sustainable production now amounts to 120,000 bottles. Champalou wines are currently enjoyed in around 20 countries around the world.
