This winery was founded in 1999 when the partnership between two wine enthusiasts, Luis Remesal and José Antonio Fernández, was established. Luis Remesal comes from a family of winemakers whose history goes back several centuries, to when his ancestors arrived in Toro to cultivate the first vineyards. José Antonio is a renowned winemaker whose fame extends beyond the Spanish borders. Since 2003, operations have been based in a newly built winery in San Roman de Hornija (Valladolid) equipped with the latest winemaking technology. Recently, Luis Remesal's son, Mario, also joined the company.
