A relatively young winery founded in 2001. They own about 220 hectares and produce attractive, almost fresh Riojas, mainly from Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano, and Mazuelo. Besides 80% American oak, they also use 20% French oak.

The wines of Bodegas Medievo are characterized by their lively fruit expression. This is achieved through temperature-controlled fermentation. As such, this is a wine producer that can be classified among the modernists. Cool fermentation and subtle use of wood are central to this group, in contrast to the traditionalists who prefer wine with a ripe and oxidative character that undergoes long wood aging in American oak barrels.
