A relatively young winery, founded in 2001, owns approximately 220 hectares and produces attractive, almost fresh Riojas primarily from Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciana, and Mazuelo. Besides 80% American oak, they also use 20% French oak.
Bodegas Medievo wines are characterized by their vibrant fruit expression. This is achieved through temperature-controlled fermentation. Therefore, we speak of a wine producer that can be considered a modernist. Cool fermentation and subtle use of oak are central to this group, in contrast to traditionalists who prefer wines with a ripe and oxidative character and long aging in American oak barrels.
